Export your voice markers to Premiere Pro
You marked the good takes out loud. Now you want them sitting on your Premiere Pro timeline instead of in your head. Here's how that handoff works.
In the export sheet pick Adobe Premiere Pro (FCP7 XML) and your project's frame rate. You get a XML file with timecodes, titles and quotes, and no audio.
What you're actually exporting
A marker file has the marker timecodes, titles and the quote that triggered each one (a manual marker just says so). It doesn't contain any audio. There's a plain text and CSV option too, handy for a spreadsheet or a script. Bring the audio into your project separately, and share it in the same export if you like.
Those four tags are the ones voice markers use. Say "good take" and you get KEEP, "cut" gives you CUT, "fix this" is FIX and "alt take" is ALT.
Steps
- Open the take and open the export sheet.
- Tick Markers (you can also tick Audio file and Transcript; they go out together in one share), then under Marker format choose Adobe Premiere Pro (FCP7 XML).
- Pick the frame rate your project uses. It starts on 24, and the choices are 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 and 60.
- Share the file to your computer however you normally move files (cloud drive, cable, email to yourself).
- Import it into Adobe Premiere Pro, and import the audio too.
Premiere's import menus move around between versions, so check Adobe's current help for where imported markers land in your project. The file you're importing is a standard .xml.
Why the frame rate matters
Markers are timed in frames. If the file says 29.97 and your project is 25, everything lands in the wrong place. NTSC rates like 23.976 and 29.97 are exact fractions under the hood, so Flowphonic treats them that way instead of rounding, which stops markers drifting over a long timeline.
Add the audio
Share the WAV in the same export and drop it onto your timeline. Line it up with the video in your usual way, then your markers show you where to look.
