Frequently asked questions

Short answers to common questions about the app. For anything else, see the Support page.

Is Flowphonic available on iOS?

Not yet. Flowphonic is for Android only, and there is no iOS version or release date.

How much does Flowphonic cost?

It is a one-time purchase on Google Play with no subscription. The price is $6.99 in the US and ₹650 in India, and varies by country.

Does Flowphonic need an account or the internet?

No account is needed. Recording works offline. Live transcription can use your phone’s online speech service when on-device recognition is unavailable or switched off.

Which voice markers does it recognise?

Spoken English phrases such as “good take”, “cut”, “circle this”, “fix this” and “alt take”. Voice markers need the live transcript to be running.

Which editors can I export markers to?

Premiere Pro (XML), DaVinci Resolve (EDL) and Final Cut Pro (FCPXML). The files contain markers only, no audio.

What audio formats does it record?

Lossless records 48 kHz WAV, 16-bit or optional 32-bit float. Four AAC tiers (Studio, High, Balanced and Voice Saver) save smaller .m4a files.

Where are my recordings stored?

On your device, in the app’s private storage. There is no cloud backup, and they stay on your phone unless you export them.

Does it work offline for transcription?

On Android 13 or newer with a language model installed, transcription runs on your phone. A saved take can be transcribed on-device only.
