Trim audio on Android and keep the original

Cutting a clip down shouldn't mean risking the recording. With Flowphonic the original stays exactly as it was.

The short version

Set IN and OUT with the jog wheel, loop it to check, then Save Trim. You get a new file, and your original take is kept.

The jog wheel

Drag the wheel and it steps through playback one second at a time, in either direction. It's much easier to land on a precise point than dragging a tiny slider with your thumb.

Trim a clip

  1. Open the take and play it with the jog wheel until you find where the good part starts. Set IN.
  2. Scrub to where it ends and set OUT.
  3. Loop the range and listen. Nudge IN or OUT if it's not right.
  4. Tap SAVE TRIM. Your selection is saved as a new file.

Your original take is always kept untouched.

Handy extras

  • Loop an in/out range to check it.
  • Skip silence automatically while listening.
  • Speed buttons: 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x and 2x.
  • CLEAN reduces background noise.
  • EXPORT ORIGINAL sends the untouched recording whenever you want it.

Then what?

Share the trimmed audio, or send markers to your editor alongside it.

Scrubbing with the jog wheel, setting IN and OUT, and looping the range.
